Kick streaming guide: go live on Kick + everywhere

Kick's generous creator split and relaxed policies made it the fastest-growing streaming platform — and it's simulcast-friendly. This guide covers Kick's stream settings, how to find your stream key, and how to broadcast to Kick and your other platforms simultaneously with StreamRove.

Kick allows up to 8,000 kbps ingest — higher than Twitch — so your Kick feed can look noticeably better. We handle the difference.

Why stream on Kick (and why not only Kick)

Best-in-class ingest quality

Kick accepts up to 8,000 kbps at 1080p60 — a visibly sharper picture than platforms capped lower. StreamRove's Kick preset is tuned for exactly this.

Simulcast without leaving anyone behind

Go live on Kick and keep streaming to your existing YouTube and Twitch audiences from the same broadcast.

No exclusivity anxiety

Kick openly permits simulcasting, so streaming to Kick alongside YouTube, Twitch or Facebook is entirely within the rules.

Grow it as a second home

New platforms reward early consistency. Adding Kick to your existing broadcast costs nothing extra — same encoder, same bandwidth, one more toggle.

How to stream to Kick (and everywhere else)

  1. 1

    Get your Kick stream key

On Kick, open Creator Dashboard → Settings → Stream Key and copy both the stream URL and key.

  2. 2

    Add Kick in StreamRove

Choose the Kick preset when adding a channel and paste the stream URL and key you just copied. Add YouTube, Twitch or others alongside.

  3. 3

    Check your output profile

Streaming only to Kick? Use the full 8,000 kbps profile. Simulcasting with Twitch? The combined profile respects the tighter 6,000 kbps cap automatically.

  4. 4

    Go live once

Start your encoder against your StreamRove ingest URL — Kick and every other destination light up together.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my Kick stream key?

Log in to Kick, open your Creator Dashboard, then Settings → Stream Key. Kick shows an RTMPS stream URL and a stream key — copy both into StreamRove's Kick preset and you're done. Treat the key like a password.

What are the best OBS settings for Kick?

Kick accepts up to roughly 8,000 kbps at 1080p60: use H.264, CBR 8,000 kbps, keyframe interval 2 seconds, audio AAC 160 kbps. If you simulcast with lower-capped platforms, StreamRove computes the combined safe setting for you.

Does Kick allow multistreaming to other platforms?

Yes — Kick has no exclusivity requirement and openly permits simulcasting. Many of Kick's biggest creators stream to Kick and YouTube or Twitch simultaneously.

Can I stream to Kick without OBS?

Yes. Anything that outputs RTMP works: vMix, Streamlabs, hardware encoders, or StreamRove Studio in your browser — Studio broadcasts to Kick like any other connected destination, no encoder install needed.

Why does my Kick stream buffer when Twitch is fine?

Usually bitrate: if you push 8,000 kbps on a connection that can barely sustain it, Kick (accepting the full rate) suffers first. StreamRove's health score and Stream Doctor flag unstable bitrate and recommend the fix before your chat does.
