Broadcast a recording as a live stream
Upload a video, pick when it should go out, and StreamRove plays it to every platform as a live broadcast — with a live chat, a live audience and none of the risk of doing it live. Or set it up now and start it yourself with one button.
The safest live show is the one that already happened.
Why broadcast a recording
Nothing can go wrong on stage
The demo that crashes, the guest whose internet dies, the sentence you wish you had phrased differently — all of it is fixed before anyone sees it, while the audience still gets a moment that happens at a particular time.
You are in the chat, not on camera
Because the video runs itself, you spend the broadcast answering questions instead of presenting. In practice this is a better session for the people watching.
Go out at a sensible hour
A recording made when you were at your best can be broadcast when your audience is actually awake, including on the other side of the world.
Nobody has to be there
A scheduled broadcast starts on its own and ends when the video does. Your encoder can be switched off and your laptop can be shut.
How it works
Upload once, keep it
Videos live in Storage with a thumbnail and duration, ready to broadcast again or to cut into clips. Uploads run in parts, so a dropped connection costs a part rather than the whole file.
Single video or a playlist
Broadcast one file, or queue several to play back to back as one continuous stream — an episode block, a highlights reel, a conference track.
Schedule it, or don't
Set a date and time and it starts on its own, or leave the time off and it waits on the broadcast page until you press Go live now.
Every destination, as usual
A pre-recorded broadcast is a stream like any other: the same platforms, the same per-destination switches, the same chat panel.
Stop it at any point
Stop mid-broadcast and the stream ends cleanly. You are not committed to the full runtime because you pressed start.
Played in real time
The video is pushed at its natural rate, not dumped as fast as the connection allows, so platforms treat it exactly like a live encoder and the timing on screen is the timing you recorded.
Pre-recorded live vs. uploading a video
They look similar and behave nothing alike.

Scheduling a pre-recorded broadcast
- 1
Upload your video
Pick a single file or build a playlist. Files up to 2 GB each, sent in parts so a wobble on your connection does not restart the upload.
- 2
Choose when it starts
Set a date and time, or choose to start it yourself. There is no obligation to schedule anything.
- 3
Pick where it goes
Select the channels for this broadcast in the same step. Nothing is switched on by default — a destination is a deliberate choice.
- 4
Let it run, or press Go live
At the scheduled moment it starts on its own. On the broadcast page you can watch the source in step with what is going out, and stop at any point.
Frequently asked questions
Will platforms treat it as a real live stream?
Yes. It is pushed to their RTMP ingest in real time exactly like an encoder would, so it appears in live sections, triggers go-live notifications and carries live chat.
Do I have to schedule a time?
No. Leave the time off and the broadcast waits on its page until you press Go live now. Scheduling is there when you want the stream to start without you.
What is the largest file I can upload?
2 GB per video, and a playlist can contain several. Uploads are sent in parts, so a large file survives an interruption without starting over.
Can I stop it once it has started?
Yes, at any point. The stream ends cleanly rather than being cut off, and the broadcast page shows why it stopped.
Can I be in the chat while it plays?
That is usually the point. The video runs itself, so you are free to answer questions in the unified chat panel for the whole broadcast.
Is the broadcast recorded?
On paid plans, yes — the session records as it goes out, so the live version with its own timing lands in Storage alongside the source video.
What if my video is corrupt or missing?
The broadcast page tells you, by name, before or instead of a stream that silently never starts. An incomplete upload is caught rather than broadcast.
