Setting up a church livestream that volunteers can run
One feed out of the building
Most churches already have a mixer for the room and a camera or two. Send that programme feed to one StreamRove ingest URL from OBS, vMix, an ATEM Mini or a hardware encoder, and we pass it on to YouTube, Facebook and any other platform you have connected. The building's upload carries one stream however many places the service appears, which matters on the kind of connection a church hall usually has. If the line is unreliable, SRT recovers from packet loss that would stall an RTMP stream.
Set it once, press one button on Sunday
Destinations, the stream key in your encoder and recording are set up once and stay set. The weekly routine for a volunteer is to start the encoder, check that the stream page shows every destination live, and stop it afterwards. The health score on the same page says in plain words when something is wrong — no picture, a low bitrate, a destination that refused the stream — so the person on the desk does not need to read encoder statistics to know whether the service is getting out.
When the camera or the internet drops
On plans with stream continuity, a holding slate keeps the destinations live if the encoder disconnects, so a short outage does not end the broadcast on YouTube and Facebook and leave viewers on a finished stream. On paid plans a second encoder can be added as a backup stream, and StreamRove switches to it automatically when the main one stops. Signal alerts are off by default; switch them on per stream to get an email, a Telegram message or a webhook the moment the signal is lost.
The rest of the week
With Record armed the whole service lands in Storage when it ends. From there you can share the replay link with people who missed it, cut a sermon highlight into a vertical clip for Reels or Shorts, or schedule the recording to play again as a live broadcast at a time that suits another congregation or time zone. The share page and the embeddable player keep the same address every week, so the link on the church website never needs changing.

Frequently asked questions
Can we stream to the church YouTube channel and Facebook page at the same time?
Yes. Connect both once and every service goes to both, from a single feed out of the building — no second encoder and no second upload.
Our volunteers change every week. How complicated is going live?
The weekly job is pressing one button. Destinations, layout and recording are set once and stay set; a volunteer who has never done it before starts the stream and stops it.
Can we schedule the service to start on its own?
A pre-recorded service can be scheduled to go live at a set time and stop when the video ends, with nobody in the building. A live service starts when your encoder or the Studio connects.
Do we get the recording for people who missed it?
On paid plans, arm Record once and every service is captured; it appears in Storage when the service ends, ready to share or clip.
Do we need to buy special equipment?
No. A laptop running OBS with a USB camera is enough to start, and anything that can stream RTMP or SRT works — the ATEM Mini, vMix, a hardware encoder. You can also go live from the browser with the Studio and a webcam.
Can people watch on our own website instead of YouTube?
Yes. Every stream has a public share page and an embeddable player you can put on the church website, and it can run alongside YouTube and Facebook or on its own.
