How to record a video podcast live with remote guests
Bring the guests in from a browser
Send each guest a link. They open it in their browser, choose a camera and microphone, check their own picture, and join — no app to install and no account to create. The noise gate in the Studio's audio settings closes the microphone between sentences, which helps when a guest is in a room with a fan or a keyboard nearby. A virtual background or blur hides a busy room.
Stream and record at the same time
Go live to YouTube, Twitch, Kick or any platform that takes RTMP while the episode records. With Record armed, the full programme — the mixed show with layouts and name cards — lands in Storage when you stop. On plans that include it, separate recording (Beta) also keeps one file per participant, so an editor can fix a guest's audio or recut the episode without the live layout baked in.
Look like a show, not a call
Layouts switch live: host alone for the intro, side by side for the conversation, one speaker large when they are telling a story. Each participant has a name card you can edit during the recording, and overlays and your logo stay in place on every layout. The teleprompter (Beta) keeps the intro, sponsor read and questions on the host's screen without showing them to the audience.
Turn one episode into many posts
Most podcast discovery now happens in short clips. Open the recording in Clips, pick the moments worth sharing and export them reframed as vertical video for Shorts, Reels and TikTok. The full episode stays available for download, so the audio version can go to your podcast host as usual.

Frequently asked questions
Can remote guests join without installing anything?
Yes. They open a link in their browser, pick a camera and mic, and they are in the episode. Nothing to install and no account to create.
Can we record and stream at the same time?
On paid plans, yes — arm Record and the session captures while it broadcasts, so the episode is waiting in Storage the moment you stop.
Can we show each guest's name on screen?
Each participant gets a name card you edit live, and it follows them if they drop out and rejoin rather than being tied to a tile position.
Can we publish the episode as clips?
Clips turns sections of the recording into short vertical videos, which is usually where podcast discovery actually happens now.
Is the audio good enough for a published podcast?
The recording keeps what each guest's microphone sends, so a decent USB microphone gives you a publishable result. For the best quality, use separate recording (Beta) where your plan includes it and edit from each participant's own file.
Can we record without going live?
Yes. Start the Studio and record without any destinations connected, then publish the episode or clips from it whenever you are ready.
